Disney and Intersectionality
This is a Disney Princess appreciation blog that isn't afraid to analyze or break down disney.
I advocate the need for more Princesses of Color (and other characters in general) in Disney films actively if not aggressively.
If you can't handle talking about race, this might not be the blog for you.
This is a body, queer+ and trans* positive blog.

All princesses kick ass.

Who is that girl I see staring straight back at me?

When will my reflection show who I am inside?

The side with Mulan was several pictures taken by Loren that I pieced together and I took the picture of Ping and edited this monster together.

Question!

I don’t know if you guys are aware but right now in Disneyland (California) they are having the Long Lost Friends Week. This week consists of bringing back favorite Disney characters to the park.

What I’m really curious is that if characters that are very requested by the guests that week get to stay longer in the parks or re-established? I mean I know we won’t get Jane or Esmeralda back but I am very curious about Mulan and Pocahontas since they were very well requested this week.

I know Mulan is currently in Disneyland (but she makes infrequent appearances) and Pocahontas is currently gone.

Can this be a little ray of light for possible Mulan or Pocahontas in the park?

For this week, Warrior Mulan is at Disneyland!

Wow this is great

hm hm well true

I mean it’s still defining “man” as being more or less traditionally masculine traits of strength etc., and obviously Disney wouldn’t put a penis in ANY song

but the movie overall does help one question the constructed side of gender :)
